About the Role
Join our dynamic Project Controls team, embedded within a multidisciplinary Planning & Delivery team providing Project Management & Contract Administration (PMCA) services to our Defence client.
As a Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of cost management across the project lifecycle. From setting budgets to tracking actuals and analysing trends, your work will ensure project financials stay aligned with delivery goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking actual costs, commitments, and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost variances, and assess impacts.
- Analyse cost data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with schedulers to ensure alignment between time and cost forecasts.
- Prepare clear, detailed cost reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Support change control processes, assessing variations, scope changes, and their financial impacts.
- Provide input into risk management and mitigation planning from a cost perspective.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in cost control, quantity surveying, or estimating, preferably within Defence, or building and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with cost management systems (e.g., PRISM, SAP, Aconex) is advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage contractual obligations.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain Baseline or NV1 security clearance.
