SJA strengthens senior forensic team with Masoud Moghaddasi

Construction-focused consultancy SJA has strengthened its team with Masoud Moghaddasi.
A Chartered Professional Structural Engineer, Masoud Moghaddasi brings over 15 years of extensive expertise in the design, construction, and project management of high-profile building and infrastructure projects to SJA.
His experience spans both academia and industry, encompassing technical peer review, design, and the delivery of numerous projects across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and Southeast Asia. These projects include commercial and residential buildings, tall buildings, healthcare facilities, transportation infrastructure, bridges, and industrial structures.
As part of SJA’s forensic structural engineering team, Moghaddasi will be involved in providing expert opinions and giving testimony in respect of structural design matters, safety in design assessments, and construction defects.
Holding New Zealand qualification, Moghaddasi will also support the firm’s projects in the country, focusing on matters specifically related to seismic design, seismic assessment and strengthening, seismic risk analysis, and seismic insurance claims. He will provide these services in both civil proceedings and prosecutorial settings.

Masoud Moghaddasi holds a PhD in structural/earthquake engineering from the University of Canterbury and is currently a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand, a Chartered Professional Member of Engineers Australia, and a Member of the Structural Engineering Society of New Zealand.
