SW promotes property specialist Blake Rodgers to partner in Melbourne
SW Accountants & Advisors has promoted property and infrastructure specialist Blake Rodgers to partner in Melbourne, taking the firm’s overall partner tally to beyond 40.
Rodgers has been a member of SW’s business & private client advisory team since joining the firm as a senior manager from PwC in 2016, with previous experience at PwC acquisition MGI Melbourne and BDO.
“Working with our fantastic team and clients for the last eight years has been a privilege and I’m very much looking forward to growing together in the years to come,” Rodgers said of his promotion to partner.
A business finance and accounting graduate with Charles Sturt University, Rodgers kicked off his career with five years between a Bathurst-based boutique and BDO. From there, he joined Victorian accounting and tax advisory Daniel Allison & Associates, before moving onto MGI and PwC for a four-year stint until joining SW in 2016, having now amassed close to two decades of experience.
SW business & private & client advisory lead, Tim Stillwell, said Rodgers’ strategic thinking and collaborative approach made him an invaluable leader: “Blake’s high calibre of technical, communicative and commercial acumen demonstrated over the past eight years is unquestionable. He consistently delivers tailored solutions to clients and mentors colleagues with genuine care and insight.”
Specialising in the property development sector, Rodgers supports large, privately-owned businesses and high net worth individuals nationally and in regional Victoria with advisory in areas such as income tax, GST and stamp duty, land tax assessments, and the establishment of new entities, along with periodic tax planning and financial reporting for ongoing projects.
“Blake’s promotion is a testament to his exceptional dedication, expertise, and contributions to our clients and the firm,” stated SW CEO Duane Rogers. “His leadership in the property & infrastructure industry group has seen him involved in a number of key initiatives (including the firm’s ‘emerging developers’ seminars), and we are thrilled to welcome him to the partnership.”
SW, which updated its branding last year, now has a nationwide partnership count exceeding 40 professionals, including fellow 2024 promotion Luke Fernandes and recruits Vanessa Priest and Kirsty McDonnel. The firm sits just outside the top 20 largest of its kind in Australia in 22nd spot, in its last financial year cracking the $80 revenue mark on the back of double-digit growth.
