Deloitte’s Belinda Willis named talent acquisition leader of the year

Employment platform SEEK has issued its latest annual HR awards, with Deloitte’s Belinda Willis named overall talent acquisition leader of the year.
Launched in 2021 at the height of the local talent crisis, the SEEK STAR awards aim to “celebrate the integral role individuals and talent teams play in the success of their organisations”, with innovation, impact, results and candidate-centricity among the key judging criteria.
Deloitte’s Belinda Willis
A finalist in last year’s awards, Deloitte’s national head of talent acquisition & mobility Belinda Willis has gone one better this year to be named Australia’s individual leader of the year. Willis joined Deloitte in 2018 after kick-starting her HR career at BearingPoint and going on to hold senior leadership roles at Rabobank, Coles, and Rio Tinto among others.
“This recognition is not just a personal milestone but a reflection of the incredible team and talented peers I have the privilege to work with every day,” Willis said of the win. “Our industry is constantly evolving, and I am proud of how we’ve navigated these changes with resilience and a focus on innovation. This award signifies our team’s collective efforts and their dedication.”
Deloitte itself has won a swag of recruitment awards in recent years, including as to graduate employment and innovation in HR technology, but came up just short in SEEK’s ‘team of the year’ category for companies with over 1,000 employees, missing out alongside fellow Big Four finalist KPMG to the crew from Optus.
Meanwhile, digital used car sales platform Carma, led by talent acquisition head Bronte Gange, took out the sub-1,000 employee bracket – an accolade previously won by technology consultancy Mantel Group, which at the time had instituted a range of innovative measures to tackle the challenges brought about by Covid-19.
DXC Technology
Another consistent finalist since the awards’ inception, DXC Technology has this year won for “best diversity, equity & inclusion initiative” alongside Westpac, following up from the firm’s most recent recognition for its pioneering neurodiversity employment program, Dandelion. It also comes at a time when efforts toward greater inclusion are facing considerable political pressures.
Speaking on the award, DXC Technology’s head of talent acquisition Alexie McKeith, said; “With so many incredible organisations doing great work in this space, it’s such an honour to be acknowledged for our efforts in creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace. A huge thank you to SEEK for this recognition, and congratulations to all the other winners and finalists.”
