Fusion5 undergoes brand overhaul to reflect expanded services portfolio

Fusion5 has become the latest IT consultancy to undergo a rebranding as the firm repositions itself in the market as a ‘full-service transformation partner’ following a trio of recent acquisitions.

In quick succession from the middle of last year, Fusion5 added Sydney-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 specialist Optimum.consulting, Wellington-headquartered IT services provider IntegrationWorks, and fellow Kiwi cloud consultancy GoCloud Systems.

Now, following their integration, Fusion5 has moved beyond the firm’s original focus on business applications to declare itself a full-service transformation partner with wide-ranging capabilities in consulting, data & analytics, AI & automation, managed services, and implementation.

“To keep pace with the intensifying complexity of IT ecosystems, Fusion5 acquired complementary ‘best-in-class’ IT practices to expand our in-house digital capability,” said Australia CEO Sven Martin. “In particular, bringing IntegrationWorks into the fold introduced significant skills and expertise, deepening our proficiency in systems integration.”

To stamp its evolution, Fusion5 has also performed a major brand overhaul under a ‘go beyond’ tag-line, swapping out the charcoal on white with orange highlight scheme of its former logo for a bold two-tone orange and dark purple-grape palette, while also updating the block lettering of its wordmark for a softer and more fluid lowercase look.

The impetus for the make-over, Fusion5 said, was that while its service-line had significantly evolved to provide integrated digital transformations, its own customer research indicated that a ‘perception gap’ still remained in the market. Fellow sovereign IT consultancy Brennan also recently opted for a fresh update after similarly expanding its portfolio.

“Our evolution had out-paced market understanding,” Martin commented. “Fusion5 goes beyond the role of a typical IT systems integrator, consultant, business solutions implementor, or even  a managed services provider, to stitch all of that digital capability together as a cross-functional transformation partner. We now offer our customers one-partner simplicity.”

Originally established in New Zealand in 2002 by current executive chair and former Capgemini vice president Rebecca Tohill, Martin further noted the benefits to clients of Fusion5’s 850-strong team spanning both sides of the Tasman, backed by recent key appointments including Kristy Brown as New Zealand CEO in a split of the firm’s top country roles.

“Today’s CIO grapples with the ongoing tension of harnessing digital innovation while ensuring measurable IT performance,” Brown said of the firm’s latest move. “In other words; keeping the lights on while lighting up innovation. Fusion5 offers a unique blend of business acumen and digital capability to bridge the vision-to-performance gap many leaders face.”
