FTI Consulting and Relativity take their partnership Down Under
FTI Consulting has bolstered its Technology offering in the Australian market by launching Relativity services in the country. The business advisory firm has a global partnership with Relativity to offer e-discovery services, and currently offers these services in various markets across the globe.
Relativity is a software development firm that works on developing data management systems, aimed at the discovery of pivotal information. The software allows companies to make sense of large repositories of unstructured data, offering the possibility of gaining legal, digital and investigative insights.
FTI Technology has a long-standing partnership with Relativity, which extends across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. As business in Australia increasingly embrace the value of digital enhancements within their organisation, the firm is looking to capitalise on this scenario through the launch of Relativity services in Australia.
More specifically, FTI Technology will make inroads into the legal services market in Australia, following in the footsteps of several other major consulting firms. The demand for legal services is growing across Australia, as reported by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
The ASIC has revealed an increase of as much as 20% in investigations in the first half of this year. The lion’s share of these investigations has been centred in the wealth management sector, evidenced by a 216% increase in wealth management investigations over the same period.
Large bodies of financial data involved in wealth management investigations necessitates the use of e-discovery technology. The technology also has a number of other applications in the cross-border domain, as FTI Consulting looks to expand the geographical scope of its operations in the region.
Commenting on the launch of the Relativity portfolio, Senior Director at FTI Technology in Brisbane Scott Gillard said, “FTI Technology has a long history of offering e-discovery services and software in Australia and delivers deep experience in the business climate and legal system in the area.”
“Our practice is experiencing rapid growth in this region, and with it, we are introducing new platforms and services to meet the needs of our client base. Adding Relativity to our portfolio gives us more ways to help legal teams reduce risk and navigate any range of e-discovery challenges with a single, trusted service provider,” he added.
