EY appoints new leaders to technology consulting arm in New Zealand
EY’s New Zealand business has appointed former Sydney-based partner Mike Willett as its new technology consulting lead, while also luring global SAP executive Rob Bremner back to New Zealand.
A data analytics and information management expert currently based out of Auckland, Willett spent over a decade with Ernst & Young between Melbourne and Sydney, where he was made a partner in 2017 before returning to New Zealand in mid-2021.
Meanwhile, SAP veteran Bremner returns to the country to lead EY’s local Aotearoa practice after almost a decade in Europe, Australia and Singapore, the latter where he mostly recently served as SAP’s global vice president for customer experience.
“These appointments reflect a deliberate investment in our capability and our continued commitment to supporting clients as technology, data and AI reshape the business landscape,” commented EY NZ’s Christchurch-based consulting leader Brent Gray, who also spent time with the Big Four firm in Sydney during Willett’s stint in Australia.
Mike Willett
A masters-holder in psychology from the University of Auckland, Willett first joined EY in Melbourne in 2010 following six and a half years as a fraud & revenue assurance director at Telstra, before later transferring to Sydney. He is a partner within EY’s Asia Pacific data analytics and information management division, which spans strategy, design and implementation.
Gray in a post to LinkedIn said: “Mike brings deep experience across data, AI and technology-enabled transformation, and will in his new role help me focus on accelerating our AI agenda, expanding our managed services offerings, and strengthening our alliance partnerships – helping organisations turn emerging technologies into practical, scalable outcomes.”
Rob Bremner
Bremmer meanwhile brings more than three decades of IT experience to the firm, dating back to senior supply chain roles at Apple and then KPMG’s SAP practice in London. From there he spent time at HPE, before in 2003 joining KPMG management consulting spin-out BearingPoint to lead the firm’s SAP practice for the UK, while also serving as energy market leader.
Following another six-plus year stint at HPE as head of service delivery, Bremmer got his first professional taste of NZ and SAP in 2015. Since then, he has spent further time with the ERP giant in Melbourne and Singapore, most recently leading its global partner ecosystem for customer experience and executing go-to-market strategies to drive business transformation.
“Based out of Wellington, Rob brings more than 25 years of experience delivering large‑scale, global programs and working with complex organisations through significant transformations,” Gray said. “His global perspective and deep SAP expertise will further strengthen how we help clients modernise core systems and drive value from their enterprise platforms.”
EY’s technology consulting arm also boosted its CRM capabilities in 2022 through the purchase of local ServiceNow specialist Red Moki, a deal which followed shortly after the acquisition of intelligent automation firm Q4 Associates.
