Argon & Co hires Alastair Crawford to lead digital manufacturing offering
Argon & Co, a global operations and supply chain consultancy, has strengthened its Australian team with the appointment of Alastair Crawford.
Appointed a partner, Crawford becomes part of the firm’s Manufacturing practice. He brings deep sector expertise, with a focus on operational and digital transformation, and has led large-scale transformation programmes across the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. His expertise lies in helping organisations improve cost efficiency, delivery performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
“My focus is on redesigning how operations are run and combining this with data, systems, and emerging technologies to improve visibility, decision-making, and execution,” said Crawford.
Crawford’s background includes operational leadership roles at Toyota in the UK, as well as around 15 years in consulting with LMAC, a New Zealand boutique consultancy specialising in manufacturing and supply chain. During his time at the firm, he led the New Zealand and Australia business and also spent several years at the helm of its UK operations.
At Argon & Co, Crawford will lead the expansion of the firm’s digital manufacturing offering, bringing together capabilities across its practices to deliver end-to-end transformation – from strategy through to implementation and value realisation.
“Manufacturers don’t need more disconnected technology; they need a clear, joined-up approach that links digital investment to real operational outcomes. That also means aligning technology with the right people, processes, and operating model, so change is embedded and value is sustained,” said Crawford.
“What attracted me to Argon & Co is its ability to combine deep operational expertise with digital capability, ensuring transformation delivers value on the ground, not just in theory.”
Paul Eastwood, Managing Partner for Asia-Pacific at Argon & Co, said: “Digital manufacturing is a critical growth area for our clients and the firm. Alastair’s experience – both on the shop floor and in leading complex transformation programmes – strengthens our ability to support organisations as they adopt more connected, data-driven operations. His appointment is a key step in scaling our digital manufacturing offering across the region.”
