Partners in Performance appoints two new managing directors in A/NZ
Accenture-owned management consultancy Partners in Performance has made two managing director promotions in its Australia & New Zealand business: Inga von Fircks and Thomas Schmidt.
Fircks has been with the firm in Sydney since 2018, having previously worked at PwC and Strategy&, while Schmidt returned to Partners in Performance in 2024 after an earlier decade at the firm and brief sojourn with EY-Parthenon in Singapore.
This year celebrating its 30th anniversary, Partners in Performance sold to Accenture in 2024, in a deal later revealed to be worth around $375 million and described as one of the most significant in the Australian management consulting landscape in many years.
Inga von Fircks
Described as a global thought leader on Scope 3 emissions, von Fircks is a member of the consultancy’s energy transition practice based out of Sydney and supports clients across industries including consumer & retail and public sector on transformation, strategy, operational improvement, and supply chain – including previously as PiP’s global procurement practice manager.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate principal in 2018, von Fircks spent close to seven years at PwC and Strategy&, before which she gained experience at business and deals advisory Crescendo Partners (under co-founder and now EY-Parthenon strategy managing director Chris Paxton) after earning a masters in European business management from ESCP in 2004.
Thomas Schmidt
A specialist in organisational effectiveness and productivity, Schmidt first joined Partners in Performance in Brisbane in 2011 after more than eight years at Monitor Group ahead to its Deloitte acquisition, his time at the strategy consultancy spread between Germany, South Africa, Russia and Brazil and covering a range of sectors including financial services, FMG, and healthcare.
After a previous decade at PiP, including as the managing partner of Singapore, Schmidt crossed to the local partnership of EY-Parthenon, only to return to Australia eighteen months later and rejoin the firm in Perth at the beginning of 2024. He is described as well-known for his hands-on approach and in finding solutions that stick with clients both in the boardroom and on the front line.
