Sydney-based Blueleaf Consulting joins global player Gallagher
Sydney-based financial services advisory firm Blueleaf Consulting has been acquired by global insurance, risk management and consultancy firm Gallagher for an undisclosed sum. Senior executives at Blueleaf will all join Gallagher’s Australia practice in a bid to strengthen the firm’s financial operations in the country.
Blueleaf Consulting offers a wide range of financial services, broadly categorised into five service segments, namely insurance, wealth management, mortgage solutions, estate planning and business succession.
The offerings represent a considerably diversified portfolio when compared to Gallagher’s global offerings. Based out of the US, Gallagher’s primary services lie in the insurance and risk management domain, wherein it plays an advisory and broker role. The firm steps in at various stages during the insurance lifecycle, supporting clients with protecting their assets and risk management advice.
The firm also supports with the recovery process when claims are being made on damage. Some specific service lines that are called upon throughout this lifecycle include retail & wholesale property and casualty brokerage, alternative risk transfer services, employee benefit consulting as well as actuarial services.
Other services offered by Gallagher include appraisal services, human resource consulting and retirement services. It is these service lines that the global company is now bolstering through its latest acquisition of Blueleaf, which has been in business in Australia since 2006.
The firm is based out of Sydney, one of the globe’s largest financial centres, and has amassed a substantial pool of clients. Blueleaf is also navigating an increasingly turbulent period for the insurance and financial services sector, as new challenger companies with cutting-edge financial technology capabilities are eating into the market share incumbents.
David Campbell, the founder and owner of Blueleaf Consulting, will join Gallagher as part of the deal. He is joined by Principals at the firm Gary O’Sullivan and Benn Furlong, alongside their team of associates. They will shift to Gallagher’s Sydney Head Office, reporting to Head of Gallagher’s International Employee Benefits Consulting and Brokerage Operations, Leslie Lemenager.
J. Patrick Gallgher Jr, Chairman, President & CEO of Gallagher expressed his anticipation for the new chapter in Australia, stating,” Blueleaf Consulting strengthens our financial wellbeing consulting expertise, and the team’s strong corporate and individual client relationships also present excellent cross-selling opportunities. I am very pleased to welcome them to our growing global team.”
