Carl Ratcliff launches marketing consultancy This Is The Day
A former senior leader of DDB Australia, Carl Ratcliff, has launched his own marketing consultancy.
Ratcliff brings around two decades of experience in the marketing world to his new advisory venture. Most recently, he was the chief strategy officer of DDB Sydney, the Sydney-based wing of DDB Australia, an Omnicom company. Having taken over from Fran Clayton in 2018 following her move to McCann, Clayton has now returned to the marketing consultancy to resume the position.
Previously, Ratcliff was the chief executive officer of public relations agencies One Green Bean (part of Havas) and Naked Communications, and the managing director of BWM Denstu. Before relocating to Australia in 2012, he led brand strategy, marketing and creative direction at Channel 5 in the UK, and worked at TBWA/London.
Shortly after leaving DDB Sydney, Ratcliff told media platform Mumbrella that he had “a few things bubbling which I’ll be thrilled to talk about in due course.” Now, he has unveiled the launch of ‘This Is The Day’, which he describes as a problem-based brand and marketing consultancy.
“This Is The Day is something I’ve always wanted to open. It’s a creatively inspired consultancy with a problem-biased brains trust. Made for marketers and partners in urgent need of originality,” Ratcliff said.
According to a post by Ratcliff on LinkedIn, This Is The Day will help brands solve business problems through marketing tools including brand positioning, proposition development and new product development. The newly founded consultancy will also focus on the commercial outcome of marketing efforts in order to help clients effectively measure their return on investments
Earlier this month another marketing consultancy launched: Saintsmiths, led by the former heads of strategy and innovation at Mediacom, Mike Deane and Tim Russell.
