R/GA names Ben Miles creative head of APAC consulting division
Digital transformation agency R/GA has appointed Ben Miles as Creative Head of its Business Transformation practice in Asia Pacific.
Founded in 1977, R/GA is a marketing, design, business consulting and technology firm with more than 2,000 employees globally. The firm, part of US-listed The Interpublic Group, one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing services companies, operates with five offices in Asia Pacific: Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, and Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
At the helm of the firm’s creative consulting services for the region stands Ben Miles, who joined the firm in May this year and has now taken the reins of the Business Transformation service line. This unit’s consultants, designers, strategists and technologists help leaders with developing strategies for new digital products, services and brands, and with the implementation and change management.
Miles, who is based in Sydney, joined R/GA from Interbrand, where he spent nine years as Executive Creative Director and played an instrumental role in its regional growth strategy. “I couldn't be more excited to take up this role,” he said.
Commenting on his first three months at R/GA, Miles said he has been overwhelmed by the firm’s key strengths. “It’s businesses like R/GA that lean into the disruption, invest in R&D and champion creativity to better serve the changing needs of clients and society. And, the diverse talent across the world and the collaborative nature of the global network is unlike anything I’ve seen – designed to scale and create a more human future.”
The new Executive Creative Director brings bags of experience to the role. He previously delivered acclaimed work for The Prince Akatoki, Independent Grocers for Australia (IGA), and Telstra, and led Australian Marriage Equality’s award-winning campaign G’ ay Mate. He also worked on branding engagements at large brands including IGA, Toll, Westpac, SKY NZ, Foxtel, Cotton On Group, Huffer, Fed Square, Bailey Nelson and a number of startups.
“Ben’s impressive track record in reshaping some of the world’s top companies and successfully navigating disruption will be a powerful asset for growing our Business Transformation practice in the region,” said Michael Titshall, the Managing Director of R/GA in Australia.
Globally, R/GA’s Business Transformation unit is led by Mike Rigby, who is based in New York.
