New Jersey headquartered IT services consulting firm Cognizant has acquired SaaSfocus in a bid to bolster the firm’s position in digital transformation throughout the region.

Saasfocus were born in the cloud eight years ago and have since expanded their presence into Australia, India and the United States. The company is one of the region’s most renowned consulting firms for the Salesforce Platform, a top cloud-based customer relation management (CRM) platform worldwide.

The SaaSfocus staff will be integrated into Cognizant’s ranks, bringing the consultancy over 350 consultants to see consulting firms in terms of headcount.

SaaSforce achieved Salesforce Platinum Partnership in 2016 and has been recognised as a Salesforce Enterprise Partner of the Year. The boutique firm’s customers include Honda, Samsung, Ansell and integrated real estate services firm CBRE.

The acquisition follows the recent acquisitions of Belgian data analytics advisory Hedera and Bolder Healthcare Solutions, a healthcare sector revenue management service provider operating in the US. Building momentum off the back of an earlier series of pick-ups in 2016 and 2017, Cognizant crashed into the Fortune 200 rankings.

“This acquisition of a respected and successful Salesforce specialist underlines our commitment to helping clients in Australia and India digitally transform their businesses and reshape the way they interact with their customers,” said Jayajyoti Sengupta, Head of APAC at Cognizant.

“Customer relationship and service management systems are at the core of our clients’ digital strategies. We look forward to welcoming the SaaSfocus team to Cognizant and combining our strengths to create new transformative digital solutions for our clients.”

“Cognizant’s global delivery footprint, digital expertise and unique culture of innovation and empowerment made it a natural fit for SaaSfocus,” said Amit Choudhary, Partner and ANZ CEO of SaaSfocus. “Combining Cognizant’s global capabilities, deep domain expertise and digital solutions with SaaSfocus’s specialised Salesforce consulting competencies will help us accelerate our clients’ digital transformation journeys and create global opportunities for our employees.”

With over a quarter of a million employees worldwide and revenues last year pushing toward $15 billion, Cognizant itself boasts a strong presence in ANZ with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, while also featuring ten offices in India including those in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Pune. Cognizant said in a statement that the SaaSfocus acquisition will further expand the firm’s capabilities in these growing markets.
