Tightrope, a boutique strategy and business consultancy has announced its open for business and will be led by ex-Accenture Strategy executive, Stijn De Vriendt.

Tightrope specialises in business strategy and performance improvement for the digital world, guiding businesses who want to thrive in the digital economy, identify where to play and how to transform to win. “We help high-growth digital companies identify the next horizon of sustainable success and help brands accelerate their digital transformation,” explained Stijn De Vriendt.

The plan is to take a slice of Australia’s $6 billion consulting industry, and challenge the big consulting firms in the area of digital strategy transformation. “We’re aiming to be different in the industry. As an independent privately-owned consultancy, we can offer greater flexibility to focus on outcomes with a clear plan on executing the strategy and providing ongoing support to clients long after the strategy is delivered.”

Tightrope is seeking to differentiate itself in the crowded market through a “tailored offering” to clients. “We’re moving away from cookie-cutter solutions and what has worked in the past to alternatively, going through the process of defining what will work for each client – customised analysis delivered by experienced consultants powered by proven methodologies and frameworks.”

The firm’s offering meanwhile blends capabilities with design, data, and tech – in order to provide an integrated approach to complex problems. De Vriendt: “Traditional legacy consulting is heavily weighted to having the answer upfront, while the Tightrope approach focuses on the process, critical thinking, and bespoke analysis.”

Company leader De Vriendt brings 15 years of experience in strategy consulting, customer strategy, operating model transformation, and digital transformation to the role. “For me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to move into a more entrepreneurial path leading Tightrope from inception.”

“My ambition is to develop Tightrope into a new-age consultancy with the best people, a differentiating culture, to have an amazing impact on the industry and turn it into something very successful.”

Tightrope is owned by among others RyanCap, an advertising and marketing communications company, and creative consultancy Shadowboxer. The three companies will work closely together.
