Four years after departing the firm to co-launch her own consultancy, Hettie Farrell has re-joined Big Four giant PwC as a partner.

“I’m delighted to have started a new chapter with my old firm, PwC. It is fantastic to reconnect with old friends and colleagues. I’m not surprised to find that PwC is teeming with brilliant advisors who are working on some of the most interesting (and tricky) issues across Australia’s infrastructure sector.”

A partner in PwC’s Integrated Infrastructure practice, based in Melbourne, Farrell will advise company management and investors in the infrastructure space on strategic business and regulatory issues, business transformation, asset performance, acquisition and divestment of regulated assets, and program management.

“It’s exciting to be part of a growing team and I can’t wait to get cracking on some important energy and utility issues here in Australia,” Farrell said.

Earlier in her career, Farrell spent twelve years at PwC, seven of which at PwC in Australia, and more recently five at the firm’s strategic consulting subsidiary Strategy& in the United Kingdom. In her latest role at the company, she was a Director in the Strategy & Economics practice of Strategy&.

In 2018 she teamed up with Stuart Cook to launch Complete Strategy, a London-based boutique specialising in regulatory and market change in the regulated industries such as utilities and infrastructure sectors. She met Cook (ex-Ofgem and PA Consulting) at PwC in the UK, where he was the firm’s Head of Utility Strategy & Regulation for five years.

On her relocation to Australia and stepping down from Complete Strategy’s partnership, Farrell said, “Of course, new adventures mean that old ones must come to an end. I am incredibly proud of what the Complete Strategy team has achieved so far, and am thrilled to have played a role in its success to date. It’s a fantastic team and I can’t wait to see what they achieve next.”
