Australian management consultancy State of Matter has in the past months bolstered its team with five new members.

Appointed a Director, Stephen Turner joined in February from French-origin Cylad Consulting, where he was a partner leading the Australian office. The Melbourne-based leader brings 25 years of experience to State of Matter, across topics including business transformation, transactions and post-merger integration, and reorganisations and turnarounds.

Earlier in his career, he worked for Big Four firm Deloitte, strategy giant McKinsey & Company and Renoir Consulting, and spent over a decade in industry.

Commenting on his move, Turner said: “I am super excited to be part of a genuine challenger consulting firm, which is putting its people and their unique talents at the forefront of its strategy. I can see that State of Matter’s clients can feel the difference and really appreciate this new way of working with consultants.”

Appointed a Principal Consultant in the firm’s Melbourne office, Michael Loke brings two decades of knowledge and experience in strategy and operations transformation across a number of industry sectors including healthcare, transportation and the public sector. He specialises in operations and technology transformation, and large programme implementation.

He also joined State of Matter from Cylad Consulting, where he was a Principal Consultant. Earlier, he served Deloitte, EY, BearingPoint and Accenture in Australia, and KPMG in Singapore (Loke returned to Australia a decade ago).

Appointed a Principal Consultant in the Sydney office, Will Mosenthal joined State of Matter from North Highland, a fellow member of the global Cordence network. Mosenthal worked in the firm’s London office for the past decade (he relocated in February), having previously served IBM Consulting for four years.

Mosenthal is an experienced account manager and specialises in business analysis, process improvement and managed services. Sydney-based Mosenthal has worked in consulting engagements and complex transformations in a range of industries including telecoms, retail, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, and oil & gas.

Sasha Naidoo joined at the start of the year from Accenture, where she spent five years in its Technology Consulting division. Appointed a Senior Consultant at State of Matter, she specialises in end-to-end technology and digital transformation, process analysis, change management, business architecture, and agile/scrum.

Rounding off the five new team members is Gabriela Frantz, who has been appointed a Consultant. She has been in Australia since 2017 (when she relocated from her native Brazil) and recently completed her diploma and advanced diploma in Leadership & Management. During her studies, she gained experience in sales, consulting and logistics.

Founded in 2016, State of Matter is a homegrown ‘challenger consultancy’ with around 40 consultants. The firm supports clients with services including strategy execution, program delivery, performance improvement, customer excellence, and agile transformations.
