EY Port Jackson Partners recruits three new partners

EY Port Jackson Partners has recruited Jim Betts, David Harrington and Sandra de Castro to its partnership team.

The strategy consulting business of professional services firm Ernst & Young – EY Port Jackson Partners – has added a trio of advisors to its partnership team, with Jim Betts and David Harrington joining the boutique in Sydney and Sandra de Castro joining in Melbourne.

Jim Betts joins EY Port Jackson Partners after a lengthy stint in various public sector roles in NSW and Victoria, including most recently as secretary of the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. Prior, he spent six years as the CEO of Infrastructure NSW, and another eight as Victorian Department of Transport secretary and as the Infrastructure department’s director of public transport.

Having served with McKinsey & Company for seven years in the early to mid-90s, David Harrington brings an extensive background in strategy consulting, with a focus on data science. Previously, he spent over eight and a half years with IAG, most recently as the insurer’s Group Executive for Strategy and Corporate Development, and has also held leadership roles at Lexicon Partners and Microsoft.

An experienced executive, Sandra de Castro joins after a one-year stint as interim general manager of retail and energy procurement at Tas Gas. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade and a half with Corporate Value Associates between London and Melbourne, and also spent five years at NAB as its chief marketing officer.
