Scott Hahn and Matt Coates take on new leadership roles at Accenture

Accenture has made two senior appointments in its leadership team, with Scott Hahn installed as the first leader of strategic operations and Matt Coates stepping into his shoes as the new technology leader.

For Scott Hahn, the move sees him become the firm’s inaugural head of strategic operations – a role that is responsible for leading business operations and partnering with the board to execute Accenture’s local strategy.

“Our business faces the same challenges as our clients and Scott will focus on driving our own transformation initiatives,” explained Peter Burns, who leads Accenture in Australia and New Zealand.

Hahn has been with Accenture for over three decades, holding several senior roles during this period. Most recently, he led the technology division for Australia and New Zealand and before that, he led the SAP practice across Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East & Turkey.

“In his 30 years at Accenture, Scott has led significant transformation projects for our clients that have delivered on the promise of technology and human ingenuity. He has held regional technology roles and has also been at the helm of some of our largest global client accounts,” explained Burns.

Matt Coates meanwhile has been with Accenture for around two decades across two spells, with a short stint at PwC in between. Most recently leader of the firm’s Cloud First division in Australia and New Zealand, he now leads the technology division and all its groups including enterprise platform, operational technology, and custom engineering.

Burns: “Matt has boldly led our Cloud First business. He has innovated to spearhead growth, develop our people, and meet intense client demand for cloud migration services.”

Both Hahn and Coates will remain part of Accenture’s Executive Leadership Team for Australia and New Zealand.
