Media company oOh! selects CTO Labs as strategic technology partner
Sydney-based outdoor advertising and media company oOh!media has appointed CTO Labs as its strategic technology partner for the next three years.
With a network of 37,000+ digital and static asset locations at roadsides, retail centres, airports, train stations, bus stops, office towers, cafes, and universities, oOh!media is one of Australia’s largest players in the out of home advertising industry. The ASX-listed company (800 staff) generates revenues of over $600 million.
With technology increasingly becoming central in oOh!media’s products and formats, the Sydney-based group is investing heavily in technology, aimed at enhancing the tech-driven experiences it offers customers (and their target audiences) and ramping up the efficiency of its internal operations.
“Digitisation of out of home is exciting and challenging. Audience measurement and verification, data, programmatic and dynamic content are evolving rapidly; our ability to deliver a greater volume of change, at pace with quality via an agile enterprise-wide technology capability is key to leading the digital future in out of home,” explained Mat Yelavich, Chief Technology and Information Officer at oOh!media.
Supporting the company with making progress on its digital agenda is CTO Labs, which has been selected following a competitive tender process which attracted several well-known names in the consulting industry.
Yelavich: “With their deep technical insights into leading edge software development, and a highly experienced delivery team that’s able to quickly embed its team within our own, CTO Labs emerged clearly as our preferred technology partner.”
Based in Sydney and Melbourne, CTO Labs is a management consulting business that specialises in technology. The firm advises clients across two key pillars: mergers & acquisitions (with a focus on technology due diligence and value creation) and technology services (such as product development and transformation).
“We are delighted to be partnering with oOh!media, a business that we admire for their successful industry disruption through technology,” said Wayne Te Paa, General Manager of CTO Labs. “Technology is an important enabler of Ooh!media’s mission (‘making brands unmissable’) and CTO Labs brings the expertise to help them realise their goals.”
The CTO Labs team leading the project includes Wayne Te Paa, Mike Mengell, Kelly Benson, Greg Skinner and Rose Elhage, and will ramp up/down in line with the scope of work.
“I’m a big believer in the impact the right culture can have on outcomes, and we felt great alignment of values with CTO Labs. We’re delighted to have CTO Labs in our corner and excited about the future,” Yelavich concluded.
