Deloitte adds 50-strong team to insurance tech consulting practice
Deloitte has boosted its insurance consulting practice with the hire of a 50-strong team of consultants from Brisbane-based technology company 4Impact.
The new team, which is led by John Ryan (the former CEO of 4Impact), consists of consultants and specialists with a track record in technology transformation, focused on the Guidewire platform.
Guidewire is a popular technology platform for the insurance sector. The company’s cloud-based platforms such as InsuranceSuite and InsuranceNow help insurers with digitising and automating their operations in areas including product development, policy management, finance, customer relationships and claims management.
“Insurers continue to be under pressure to deliver revenue growth and improved margins whilst addressing increased regulatory risks, more significant climate change-induced events, and competition from new entrants who have access to modern technology platforms,” said Arthur Calipo, leader of Deloitte’s Financial Services practice.
“Technology trends surrounding cloud, applied artificial intelligence, internet of things and blockchain are critical to the successful transformation industry players need to pursue. Guidewire solutions are widely used across the sector in Australia and Asia to enable this digital transformation.”
“The 4Impact team has deep technical experience in offering a full range of Guidewire services, from strategy to implementation, enhancements, upgrades, integrations, maintenance, and support.”
Deloitte already is a Premier Alliance Partner of Guidewire at a global level, and will now become the “largest Guidewire certified specialist player in the region,” according to Berin Wallace, leader of the firm’s Insurance practice.
“The arrival of this highly specialised team will add to our already strong presence in the Australian market, and our broader global footprint.”
For the in-coming team, the cross from the 100-strong 4impact to the global professional services giant and its award-winning Australian insurance consulting practice will enable the team to accelerate its mission to become the “leading player in the region.”
Ryan, now a partner within Deloitte Consulting, said, “Joining Deloitte represents a natural evolution for us, and the firm’s recognition and investment in our people and their capability is a testament to what they have achieved in the market. Combining our experience with Deloitte’s global Guidewire experience and resources will create the leading service in our region.”
The deal is Deloitte’s ninth deal in Australia in 2022.
