Damian Lamb joins Integrated Project Services practice of HKA
Global consulting firm HKA has bolstered its Director rank in Australia with Damian Lamb.
Lamb brings around 20 years of experience on large projects within the construction, infrastructure and public transport sectors to the firm, gained both in consulting as well as industry.
He specialises in project controls, with a particular emphasis on cost management, risk and contingency management, earned value management, and performance tracking.
Before relocating to Australia from the United Kingdom, Lamb worked on the Crossrail project, Europe’s largest infrastructure project. On the project, he had overall responsibility for the cost management of a suite of 45 contracts (totalling circa £2 billion) and was the functional Head of Cost for the Systemwide sector overseeing ten cost engineers.
Lamb saw the Crossrail project from beginning to end, from the commencement of construction of the ten new stations and tunnelling (42km) through to commercial close out.
Earlier in his career, Lamb held roles in project control and project management with engineering consultancies Jacobs and Mouchel. During this time, he worked on several London Underground, Network Rail, and Transport for London projects, including the Jubilee and Northern Lines Upgrade Project, and the upgrade of several stations/tracks as part of the NEC3 programme.
Now at HKA, Lamb is part of the Integrated Project Services practice and a member of the firm’s team working on the Sydney Metro project, where he is providing cost support to the technical controls function.
“It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks since arriving in Australia but myself and the family are enjoying our new home. Thanks to the HKA team for a great welcome, I look forward to my time with HKA in Australia,” said Lamb.
Phil Kienstra, Head of the Integrated Project Services practice, commented: “We’re delighted to have someone with Damian's skills and experience join our team.”
Earlier this year, HKA united its Oceania and Asia practices into a single business and expanded into New Zealand.
