Global management consultancy firm Oliver Wyman has expanded its Communications, Media and Technology (CMT) practice with Ryan Kelly.

Appointed a Principal in the Sydney office, Kelly will advise Oliver Wyman’s clients in the sector on topics including growth, performance improvement, commercial excellence, and restructuring of operating models.

He joins Felix Iblher, Steven Hall and Zia Bhadiar at the helm of the CMT practice, which launched late 2021 and has meanwhile landed a number of anchor clients.

Ryan Kelly, Principal, Oliver Wyman

“I’m excited to help grow and shape Oliver Wyman’s CMT practice in Australia. We’re seeing strong demand in the communications, media and technology space and I’m looking forward to helping our clients compete smartly and serve their customers better.”

Kelly brings around 15 years of experience to the consulting firm, gained both in consulting and in industry. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, he worked for Strategy&, where he spent eight years working with (senior) leaders and their teams to design and deliver new business strategies and transformations.

His track record includes driving a major business performance transformation at a challenger telco, delivering a customer sales and service transformation at an integrated operator, and a digital and operating model transformation at a media organisation.

Earlier, Kelly briefly served Canon and Facebook, after kickstarting his career at Booz & Company before the firm’s acquisition by PwC. During his career, he has worked across Australia, United States, United Kingdom, and South East Asia.
