Cognizant installs Rob Marchiori as country leader for Australia
Cognizant has installed Rob Marchiori as its new country leader for Australia. He succeeds Jane Livesey, who in November last year was promoted to CEO for the Asia Pacific region.
In his new role, Marchiori is responsible for executing the company’s strategy for Australia and leading its roughly 1,500-strong team nationally. He also oversees topics such as client development and service, internal operations, and innovation.
Based in Melbourne, Marchiori first joined Cognizant in 2021 as the Australia and New Zealand lead for the financial services practice, and later took on the role of head of markets for the A/NZ region.
Prior to joining Cognizant, Marchiori spent around two decades in the banking industry. Latterly, he led the group-wide transformation portfolio of ANZ Bank, which included a number of major cloud and agile focused transformation programs. Earlier, he served European banks Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN Amro, based out of Dutch capital city Amsterdam. Marchiori kicked off his career at Accenture.
“Rob’s leadership has had a positive impact for our clients in Australia, including some of the world’s leading banking and financial services. His energy, client-centricity, transformative mindset and leadership is exactly what is needed to drive growth for our Australia business,” said Livesey.
Commenting on his new challenge, Marchiori said: “Cognizant’s business in Australia has seen exciting growth driving more value for our clients over the past year. It's a huge testament to the strength of our local team and our partners. I look forward to working with the team to help our clients deliver value at pace to their customers and continue to build a business that is adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of our people and clients.”
