Australia-based FTI colleagues shine in internal Awards program
Four Australia-based FTI Consulting colleagues have made the final round of the firm’s annual internal Awards program, with Perth-based senior consultant Paris Ward even taking home one of the six coveted awards.
Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has announced the winners of its global in-house awards program, with Perth-based senior strategic communications consultant Paris Ward taking out the ‘Going Places’ category. Three other Australia-based consultants were also recognised as finalists: Affy Aligiannis and Rhys Horwill in the ‘Got it Done’ category, and Carolin Lopez in the ‘Culture Champion’ category.
Established in 2014, the FTI Awards program offers employees the opportunity to nominate their colleagues for their extraordinary contributions to their teams and the firm across six categories, further including ‘Cross Segment’, ‘Relentless Innovation’, and ‘Servant Leader’.
Each category sees six colleagues named finalists, with only one winner selected per category, drawn from FTI Consulting’s global headcount of more than 7,500 employees across thirty countries.
The ‘Going Places’ award is reserved for staff below Senior Managing Director level who have demonstrated extraordinary efforts in building the firm, with Ward being noted for her proactive attitude and winning multiple accounts off her own bat. A commerce and marketing degree-holder from Curtin University, Ward joined the firm’s Strategic Communications arm in mid-2021, and was last month promoted to senior consultant.
“Paris exemplifies a proactive, get it done ethos. She is eager to learn and works and thinks beyond her years,” FTI Consulting stated in issuing the award
One colleague noted that, “Instead of sitting and waiting to be assigned tasks, Paris is proactive,” while another said, “Paris’ enthusiasm, desire to learn, camaraderie, and willingness to work adds significant value to the Strategic Communications segment and to the firm as a whole.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Got it Done’ award is given to those who have overcome adversity and worked through challenges to achieve fantastic results. Sydney-based senior director Affy Aligiannis and senior director Rhys Horwill of FTI’s Melbourne office were both finalists, the category ultimately won by EMEA corporate finance & restructuring strategy lead Liz Jordan.
A member of FTI Consulting’s Forensics segment, Horwill has been with the firm since mid-2021 after spending six years between KPMG and acquisition Ferrier Hodgson along with an earlier stint at Deloitte, while Aligiannis joined FTI’s Technology practice in early 2020.
Another recent recruit, Carolin Lopez, a human capital marketing manager in Brisbane, was named a finalist in the ‘Culture Champion’ category for promoting and strengthening the firm’s culture.
