Ex-Big Four consultant Mohit Malik joins BDO's cyber practice
BDO has brought in former Big Four consultant Mohit Malik as a partner within its Cyber Security practice.
Based out of the firm’s Sydney office, Mohit Malik has over 15 years of experience designing and implementing cyber programmes and security projects.
At BDO, Malik will focus on cyber security strategy and governance, cybersecurity architecture and engineering, offensive security, cyber resilience, and data security services.
Grant Saxon, BDO’s Office Managing Partner for New South Wales, said Malik’s arrival comes at a time of strong demand for the firm’s cyber services. “The threat of a cyber attack is quickly becoming one of the most significant risks facing our clients and the demand for cyber risk management services is growing rapidly. We are therefore pleased to grow our team with Mohit.”

Malik most recently worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) where he led the cybersecurity initiatives for its payments division.
Reflecting on his “incredible 2-year journey” with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Malik stated on social platform LinkedIn: “The Payments team at CBA plays a vital role in the Australian economy, processing 2 out of every 5 payments in the country. My mission was to ensure the safety and security of these payment systems, and I am proud to have contributed to this goal while working on some key projects.”

Earlier in his career, Malik spent a combined five years at PwC and EY. He also held roles in industry in India, prior to relocating to Australia’s shores five years ago.
