Argon & Co launches local ESG and Sustainability practice
Following the launch of a new Intralogistics practice in June, global supply chain and operations consultancy Argon & Co has now hit the A/NZ market with a fresh ESG & Sustainability offering.
Global management consulting firm Argon & Co has launched a new sustainability offering in Australia and New Zealand to support local businesses in their bid to lower emissions.
Following a brief stint with subsidiary Supply Chain Cover, former partner Frans Verheij has returned to Argon & Co to lead the development of the new proposition, drawing on more than twenty-five years of industry and supply chain consulting experience.
“We need to look after our planet and our communities for future generations,” Verheij stated. “With consumer awareness increasing, resources becoming scarce, regulatory requirements increasing, and sustainable business models being the most cost effective, it makes good business sense to act now on ESG and sustainability. Together, we have no choice but to create a path towards a more sustainable and socially responsible world.”
On launching the new practice, the firm noted that despite the urgency, leaders were still grappling with crucial questions such as how to translate ESG strategy into meaningful action or even where to start? Here, the practice will support clients across their end-to-end value chains with ESG strategy design, sustainability assessments & benchmarks, and ESG due diligence frameworks, underpinned by its knowledge of the regulatory landscape.
The consultancy said that the new local offering expands on its existing expertise in operational transformations and will strengthen its ESG and sustainability practice at the global level. Globally, Argon & Co has a headcount in the range of 500 consultants across 14 countries – led by Jean-François Laget since July – including now more than 100 in Australia and New Zealand; that number bolstered by a string of recent acquisitions.
“With the pressing challenges of climate change, sustainability is no longer just an option, but an imperative for companies seeking to thrive in a rapidly evolving world,” stated A/NZ managing partner Paul Eastwood. “By integrating sustainability as a core element of our expertise, we aim to empower clients to navigate the complexities of sustainable practices, transform their operations, and forge a lasting positive impact on the environment and society.”
Eastwood, who joined Argon & Co last year upon its acquisition of his 2016-founded Pollen Consulting Group, described the launch of the practice as a ‘pivitol moment’ in the firm’s ambitions toward creating a greener and more sustainable future. The consultancy has already achieved carbon negative status and is presently being certified as a B-Corp organisation, having also taken the ‘1% pledge’ for corporate philanthropy.
