Grant Thornton welcomes partners Rhys Penning and Troy Wilson

Grant Thornton has welcomed two new partners to its leadership team: Rhys Penning and Troy Wilson.

Appointed a partner in the Tax group, Rhys Penning is a partner in the Indirect Tax practice. He is based out of the firm’s Melbourne office.

Penning brings with him over 25 years of practice with a focus on GST technical and legal knowledge. He is an active member of the Property Council’s GST subcommittee and the Retirement Living Council’s Tax committee for many years, and has been involved in many Government and ATO consultations.

“Rhys is a recognised GST thought leader in Australia. He brings specialist expertise to Grant Thornton and we are excited to have him on board,” said Sandie Boswell, National Managing Partner for Tax at Grant Thornton.

Troy Wilson is a member of the Data Transformation & Analytics team within the Tax group, where he focuses on helping teams develop and adopt technology solutions to solve complex tax matters.

Having a range of experiences as an accounting and taxation advisor for large and mid-sized professional practices, Sydney-based Wilson blends his experience as a start-up owner and CFO with his technical experience as a tax technologist. He previously spent 15 years at Grant Thornton, and spent the past nine years outside the firm.
