Tim Robinson new leader of KPMG's Technology Consulting practice
KPMG has appointed Tim Robinson as the new leader of its Technology Consulting practice.
In his new role, effective from 1 January 2024, Robinson will lead KPMG’s 1,200-strong team of technology and business specialists. The practice delivers a range of solutions across technology enablement and implementation, and offers advisory services in areas such as data and analytics, cyber security and technology risk.
Robinson has been with KPMG since 2016, when the big Four firm acquired Markets IT, a company he founded in 2011. He brings over two decades of technology transformation experience to the role.
In his new role, Robinson will be responsible for leading the firm’s portfolio of technology consulting projects, key client and account management, and driving the thought leadership agenda on topics such as data science and artificial intelligence. He will also focus on increasing KPMG’s engagement with major alliance partners.
“We are delighted to have Tim step up to lead our technology consulting business and help more Australian organisations to successfully unlock the power of technology,” said Paul Howes, National Managing Partner for Consulting at KPMG.
“Beyond his technical know-how, Tim is a business founder and leader who is hugely respected amongst his team, clients and industry peers. We also congratulate Richard on his promotion to a senior regional role at KPMG, having steered the tech team here for ten years.”
On his appointment, Robinson said: “I’m excited to be taking on the challenge of developing the firm’s capabilities during what is being called ‘the fourth industrial revolution’ [a neologism capturing the rapid technological advancement in the 21st century]. For years, our team has been the driving force behind our clients moving onto cloud-based systems, and that work will continue, but it is the first step in a wider evolution.”
“The makeup of the KPMG team is one of our major strengths in market. We have the right mix of young people, and those with decades of industry experience, to ensure we are steering in the right direction and combining business experience with technology knowledge. This means we are well positioned to give our clients the right advice and help them implement new solutions such as AI well into the future,” he added.
Robinson succeeds Richard Marrison, who has been promoted to Head of Technology Consulting for Asia Pacific and Partner-in-Charge for KPMG Australia’s Deals Enablement and Review Board.
