RSM moves Melbourne branch to Australia’s tallest office building
Continuing a recent spate of consultancy relocations across the country, RSM’s Melbourne branch has become the latest to up sticks and shift its operations to a shiny new office.
Accounting and consulting firmRSM has shifted its Melbourne branch to 120 Collins Street – Australia’s tallest office building.
Among a recent spate of consultancy relocations across the country, the firm cited decade-long growth in its local business in prompting the move up the street from its former address, along with the desire for a vibrant, modern workspace which would reflect its “dedication to excellence and innovation.”
Speaking on the occasion, RSM’s Melbourne managing partner Kristie Dundon said the move represented a significant milestone; “We decided to relocate our office due to the growth of our Melbourne branch over the past ten years. We are constantly adding new service lines to enhance our client offerings, which has resulted in an increase in our team and space requirements. Our team’s growth and evolving needs demanded a fresh start.”
Standing at 265 metres, the height of RSM’s new building is greater than the distance the firm has had to drag its filing cabinets from its former location at 55 Collins, although the hike up to the 27th floor won’t be much fun if the lifts are ever out. Otherwise, RSM staff in Melbourne will now benefit from an open modern design with communal spaces, views extending across the city, and – especially important in Melbourne – more natural light.
RSM said that as part of its commitment to growth and progress, the new office had been carefully selected and crafted to enhance collaboration, productivity, and employee well-being, with state-of-the-art facilities, comfortable workspaces, and inspiring meeting areas designed to inspire creativity and foster meaningful connections as a hub of innovation. Or, as per the brochure, “an environment where creativity thrives, ideas flourish, and relationships deepen.”
There are roughly 300 RSM staff and partners listed on LinkedIn as being based out of Melbourne. One of the latter, two-decade company veteran Evan Tsipas, said of the move; “It’s a reminder that RSM is undergoing a constant process of adaption and evolution along with our clients. The new office will be even more accommodating, as a larger space allows for bigger and more frequent client events, with more activity being central to a vibrant culture.”
The firm’s move into fresh new digs follows a flurry of recent consulting office relocations across the country, including in Melbourne. Among the local shuffling, Ankura upgraded to a new space at 530 Collins; rival FTI Consulting decided to stay put but moved to the top of their 600 Bourke Street address; Mazars joined them in the same building after moving to the CBD from South Melbourne, while boutique FromHereOn also switched to the ‘Paris end’ of Collins.
