Tjeerd Groot joins Alvarez & Marsal’s senior team in Perth
Tjeerd Groot has crossed from Boston Consulting Group to Alvarez & Marsal, where he will lead the firm’s Energy & Resources sector offering in Perth.
Dutchman Tjeerd Groot has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy sector, including nearly nine years as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Australia, and another nine years at oil & gas major Shell.
Over the past years, he has worked with 7 of the 10 largest energy, mining and power and utilities companies in Australia, on topics including strategy, operating model redesign, large-scale organization restructure, performance improvement, and mergers & acquisitions as well as post-merger integration.

Groot is the fifth Managing Director to join Alvarez & Marsal’s Perth office since its establishment in 2022, and coincides with a significant expansion through the opening of a new office in the iconic Newspaper House on St Georges Terrace. The US-headquartered firm currently has 20 employees based in Perth.
