GHD names Floyd de Kruijff as Aviation practice leader
Global professional services company GHD has appointed Floyd de Kruijff as the new leader of its Aviation practice.
In the role, the Dutchman, who has been based in Australia for thirteen years, will lead GHD’s aviation team across its offices nationally.
De Kruijff brings over two decades of international experience in the aviation industry, spanning across EMEA and APAC in both client and consultant roles. He has been with engineering consultancy GHD for almost seven years.
Commenting on his new role, De Kruijff said: “Aviation is a key area of focus for GHD, and we already have a strong track record of delivering integrated airside and defence solutions. By harnessing our expertise incorporating our digital and advisory capability, we can offer a comprehensive package of services across all airport assets that fits our clients’ vision for the future.”
GHD’s current and recent projects in Australia include providing master engineering services for the airside and landside of the new Western Sydney Airport, runway overlay design and construction support for Melbourne Airport, and creating a BIM model of the International Terminal at Brisbane Airport.
Based out of Brisbane, De Kruijff is currently the Chair of the Corporate Members Advisory Panel for the Australian Airports Association, and is also an active member of GHD’s global aviation practice.
Earlier in his career, De Kruijff worked for consultancies Royal HaskoningDHV and NACO, as well as for Dutch airport company Royal Schiphol Group and Australia’s North Queensland Airports.
Mikel Alonso, who leads GHD’s Transport division in Australia, said De Kruijff’s appointment is in line with the company’s ambition to expand its presence in the aviation sector, amid a strong growth forecast for the landscape with almost $2 trillion in investments set to fly into the sector in the next 15 years.
