Sean Treweek to lead Aurecon's 1,000-strong workforce in Queensland

International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has named Sean Treweek as Managing Director of its Queensland division.
At the helm of a 1,000-strong workforce across eight offices in Queensland, Sean Treweek will oversee the firm’s strategy, operations, project delivery, client engagement, and general management in the state.
He brings more than 15 years of experience in leadership across engineering and professional services to Aurecon, specialising in technical project management, business strategy and leadership, and change and operational management including complex stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining Aurecon, Treweek held senior positions at NDY, Roberts Co, Meinhardt Group and WSP.
“Aurecon is a business I have held in very high regard throughout my career. With a significant footprint in Asia-Pacific coupled with a diverse market offering, the company is well equipped to partner with clients across multiple sectors and bring international experience to local project delivery,” Treweek said of his new challenge.
With an abundance of development opportunities, Treweek said that he looks forward to helping Aurecon cement and expand its position in the Queensland market. “Queensland is in the middle of its biggest build in history, with a population set to exceed six million within two decades, not to mention the infrastructure that is needed for the 2032 Olympic Games. This creates a plethora of opportunities for engineers, designers and advisors.”
Welcoming Treweek to the company, Louise Adams, Chief Operating Officer at Aurecon stated: “Sean’s multi-sector experience across Australia, New Zealand and Asia is impressive and will no doubt bring fresh energy to the business.”
“Our Queensland business has been growing from strength to strength over recent years. With Aurecon’s deep expertise and established relationships throughout Queensland, we are uniquely positioned to drive the region’s long-term transformation and I look forward to working with Sean to advance this vision.”
