Forvis Mazars makes five senior promotions in Melbourne and Sydney

Newly-merged accounting and consulting firm Forvis Mazars has elevated Pei-hua Loke to its business advisory partnership in Melbourne, while making four associate director promotions.
Loke joined Mazars as a graduate in 2007 upon completion of a commerce degree at the University of Melbourne, following an earlier internship with Ernst & Young in Malaysia, and has since steadily worked her way up the ranks.
Her elevation coincides with the promotion of office colleagues Kareena Nihalani and Susan Kamau to associate director, while Kino Xiong and David Xu have also stepped up in the audit & assurance and outsourcing practices in Sydney.
“At Forvis Mazars, recognising and developing top talent is integral to our success,” Melbourne managing partner Richard DeBono said of the new senior cohort. “Each has demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields, and their promotions are a testament to their hard work and the significant contributions they have made to our firm.”
Loke becomes a partner after her previous promotion to associate director in 2022, and has now spent more than a decade and a half at the firm – which this year merged to become Forvis Mazars. Serving a wide range of clients across sectors, Loke was noted for her passion for continuous improvement, her emphasis on systems and processes, and for her keen eye for detail.
Loke celebrated her promotion alongside Melbourne-based business advisory colleagues Susan Kamau and Kareena Nihalani, the latter who joined via Mazars’ acquisition of Cummings Flavel McCormack in 2019, where she had previously spent seven years. Kamau meanwhile crossed from Pitcher Partners in 2020, with an earlier five years spent at Accru dating back to 2012.
Kino Xiong and David Xu have also been bumped up to associate director in Sydney, in the firm’s respective audit & assurance and outsourcing divisions. Xiong has been with Mazars since 2019, transferring from the firm’s Dutch branch in 2022, before which he also spent seven years at BDO in Holland. Xu likewise joined the local firm in 2022, bringing fifteen years of experience.
