As the big players of the Australian consulting sector continue to feel the squeeze, a number of small boutiques have sprung up across the market, including recent entries ValueKnox and Quadrivium.

Based out of Melbourne, ValueKnox was established by former Deloitte partner Ashok Govindaraju with a focus on strategic sourcing and procurement transformation, with former Deloitte director Ben Edwards also on board.

Meanwhile, strategy & innovation outfit Quadrivium has also launched in Melbourne with the promise of a non-traditional approach to transformation, co-founded by former State of Matter pair Fraser Moore and Elliott Lovejoy-Hall.

ValueKnox

According to its founders, ValueKnox was established to help organisations reduce costs and drive sustainable growth from their strategic supply chain and operational initiatives, with the consultancy’s offerings focused on strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, shared services, and finance and procurement function transformation, leveraging AI and other digital technologies.

Govindaraju said the focal areas were chosen for their ability to deliver maximum impact: “Effective partnerships and supply chains are the lifeblood of any organisation. Strong partnership models accelerate growth and enable differentiated market positioning. Further, they can also generate significant value through access to innovation, better CX, and global talent.”

Govindaraju, as CEO, has been a partner at Deloitte for the past two years, altogether spending eight years at the Big Four firm after previously serving in senior regional leadership roles at ISG and HLCTech. He is joined by former Deloitte tech strategy & transformation director Ben Edwards, who earlier spent close to decade at Grant Thornton and acquisition Consult Point.

Quadrivium

Quadrivium also aims to bring a fresh approach to consulting as compared to the bigger traditional houses, helping to bridge the ‘common disconnect’ between aspirations and organisational effectiveness by partnering with businesses on their strategies from ideation, innovation and planning through to execution, alignment, change management and performance analysis.

“Traditional consulting approaches often fall short by reinforcing existing ideas that hinder genuine exploration and innovation,” the firm states. “At Quadrivium, we strive to break this cycle by offering a fresh perspective that empowers organisations to tackle challenges in new and impactful ways, whether they’re seeking incremental improvements or transformative change.”

The venture is being led by co-managing partner Fraser Moore, who across his three-decade industry career previously served as COO of boutique management consultancy State of Matter and more recently chief executive of its Think Beyond offshoot. Moore is joined by fellow co-founding managing partner and former Think Beyond senior consultant Elliott Lovejoy-Hall.
