Five new partners among RSM’s new-year promotions in Australia
Accounting and consulting firm RSM has made fourteen new-year senior promotions across its Australian offices, including the addition of five new partners to eclipse the 150-mark nationwide.
The new partners – Tranquility Clinton, Martin Huang, and Deepak Keshavamurthy of Melbourne, and Simon Harcombe and Tom Hüberli in respectively Perth and Rockingham – were elevated alongside nine new directors.
With two of the cohort having started out at RSM as graduates and four based regionally, chief executive partner Jamie O’Rourke said the promotions were in line with the firm’s strategic focus on internal talent and expansive coverage.
“At a time when our firm is growing exponentially, it’s pleasing to see our internal talent rewarded and recognised within the business,” O’Rourke stated. “These promotions reflect our commitment to supporting the career development of our staff and fostering our internal talent pipeline, and signal our commitment to continual growth and investment across the country.”
Tranquility Clinton is a member of RSM’s risk advisory team, specialising in probity, procurement and integrity services. She rejoined from Pitcher Partners early last year after previously spending twelve years at the firm until 2021, with earlier experience at PwC and Deloitte in the UK.
A specialist in technical accounting and financial reporting, Martin Huang becomes a partner in RSM’s assurance & advisory in Melbourne after having first joined the firm at the beginning of 2014, before which he spent five years with the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office (VAGO).
The third of the Melbourne partnership promotions, Deepak Keshavamurthy likewise served with VAGO before joining RSM’s assurance & audit practice in 2017. Previously, he spent the best part of a decade rising up the ranks at Indian accounting and advisory firm Sharp & Tannan.
Meanwhile, across in Perth, Simon Harcombe has been made partner in RSM’s tax services division, where he specialises in R&D and incentives consulting. Harcombe joined RSM in 2013 after eight years at Ernst & Young across two stints, split by time with WA’s treasury department.
Tom Hüberli heads RSM’s Rockingham office, situated south of Perth. A partner in the firm’s business advisory division, Hüberli originally joined in Busselton at the turn of the century, with further time spent in Fremantle and Perth, before taking on the Rockingham leadership role in 2021.
RSM altogether has 34 outlets nationwide, including recent additions in regional NSW, which last year generated revenues in excess of $370 million on the back of double-digit growth. Following its mid-year intake, the firm’s latest round of promotions takes its overall partnership tally to 151.
