Auckland-based Maker.Tech has appointed Joff Outlaw as its Managing Director for Australia, handing him the remit to accelerate its growth in the country.

Founded in 2019, Maker.Tech supports clients with the design and build of digital products and experiences, specialising in AI and scalable, composable solutions.

After five years of growth in New Zealand, where it now has a team of around 25 staff, Maker.Tech has set the ambition to ramp up its presence in the Australian market. “We’re committed to helping more businesses in Australia navigate the fast-evolving digital landscape with our proven ability to deliver results through our unique approach to experimentation-led transformation,” said Hemant Walter-Rao, Founder and Managing Director of Maker.Tech.

To help lead this next phase of growth, Maker.Tech has appointed Joff Outlaw, an experienced digital strategist and formerly with Accenture, Wipro and PwC, to lead its Australian operations.

Outlaw has over two decades of experience in digital and management consulting, and is a thought-leader in workplace productivity – having just released the newly published ‘Busy Idiots: A Guide to Productivity in a Distracted World’.

Most recently, Outlaw was Managing Director A/NZ of Designit, the innovation consulting arm of Wipro, and a Partner in Wipro’s consulting business. Before that, he held senior roles at Accenture and PwC, among others, with his career spanning the United Kingdom and Australia.

On his new role, Outlaw said: “We’re seeing great demand for Maker.Tech’s experimentation-led transformation approach - we can quickly prove value, scale secure digital solutions and adapt them to evolving customer expectations. Our experimentation approach is particularly suited to AI and I’m excited about the solutions we’ve already delivered to improve employee productivity and customer experience.”
