Sequana welcomes Deb Neumann, Anne Cormack and Melanie Tranter

In the newly created role of Director of Strategic Environment and Planning, Deb Neumann will lead the company’s new environment and planning services offering, which aims to help organisations in the water, energy and utility sectors become more sustainable and plan their next environmental moves.
Neumann brings over 20 years of experience working directly with State and Commonwealth Governments and major clients in the water and energy sectors to the role. She has a background in delivering major infrastructure projects, strategic land use, and environmental advice in urban and regional settings.
She was most recently was Head of Environment and Planning at BlueFloat Energy, where she was responsible for the environmental, planning, and policy workstream for its offshore wind projects across Australia. Before this, she worked at engineering company Jacobs for almost twenty years in various roles.
“In her role, Deb will bring strategic and innovative thinking to how complex environmental and planning approvals are delivered, challenging business-as-usual approaches and facilitating earlier environmental and planning considerations to support efficient and streamlined project and program delivery,” said Frank Fisseler, CEO of Sequana. “We are extremely excited to have someone of Deb’s calibre join our senior leadership team.”
On her move, Neumann said: “I have been watching Sequana from the sidelines for a few years now and have been impressed with its reputation for getting things done and how the organisation is renowned for being a trusted advisor and advocate for its clients. We are on the cusp of a real step change in our industry with an insurmountable task ahead as we tackle the realities of the climate crisis.”
In building the offering, Neumann will work closely with Paul Neilson, Sarah Hale and Anshika Gupta, who jointly lead the Environment & Planning service offering.
Further strengthening its senior team, Sequana has appointed Anne Cormack as Associate Director of Environment and Planning and Melanie Tranter as Associate Director of Strategic Environment. Cormack joins Sequana with almost 16 years of experience in environmental planning and assessment. Tranter brings over 20 years of experience in the water and natural resources industry in the public and private sectors.
