KPMG unveils new integrated AI platform with early Australian release

Global professional services firm KPMG is rolling out a new AI business transformation platform Velocity to its practices worldwide, with Australia among the first handful of countries on the list.

KPMG Velocity combines a number of the Big Four firm’s existing platforms with AI, data, industry insights, transformation assets and a range of other ESG, cyber, risk and regulatory tools, intended to empower KPMG professionals to design and carry out smarter and faster client transformations.

Australian employees will be among the first to be able take advantage of the fresh new platform from the middle of this year, alongside those in other major economies such as the US, UK, Germany France, China and Japan, before Velocity is later introduced to the firm’s remaining global network

“Isolated transformations are no longer enough,” declared KPMG’s Sydney and UK-based global consulting lead, Ian Hancock. “With the world changing at pace, organisations must move quickly to stay ahead while effectively sustaining change. To keep advancing, clients need the speed to get ahead as well as the strategic direction to stay there. KPMG Velocity gives them both.”

According to the firm’s research, almost 90 percent of global CEOs are currently overseeing two or more simultaneous transformations, with Hancock contending that Velocity can help leaders to navigate this complexity with greater ease by eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring each step of the transformational journey is secure and in sync with the company’s long-term goals.

AI in sync

Velocity brings together KPMG’s existing multi-billion dollar digital transformation suite in the one, AI-powered platform with a consistent methodology, including KPMG Connected Enterprise, KPMG Powered Enterprise, KPMG Trusted Imperative, and KPMG Elevate, while adding a further range of support tools and knowledge materials.

Featuring propositions, journeys, assessments, templates and pre-configured solutions, KPMG said the new platform can assist in the modernisation of all business functions and operations to unlock potential growth, such as by connecting a client’s current strategy and technology to a future blueprint and allowing easy integration with state-of-the-art digital advancements.

“KPMG’s substantial investments in building transformation technology solutions have made it possible to construct one transformation environment for our clients that seamlessly integrates our digital capabilities,” said Carl Carande, global head of advisory. “This will enhance the speed, agility, precision and confidence with which our clients can move forward and build value.”

Australia has been central to KPMG’s global AI aspirations in recent years, with the local practice having helped develop its initial internal genAI agent KymChat in the early ChatGPT days prior to its wider public distribution, along with its award-winning customised tax-focused tool KymTax, which is also be rolled out to member firms across the world.
