The Melbourne branch of accounting and consulting firm Nexia has welcomed three new partners to its business advisory and tax consulting divisions.

Business advisory partners Aaron March and Sangeeta Kaushik have been poached from BlueRock, while Domenique Vasile joins Nexia’s tax consulting partnership from Moore, with earlier time spent at Deloitte and RSM. Their addition, along with the recent promotion of Mel Nash, takes the Melbourne partnership number to nineteen.

“Broadening our client typology has been one of our long-term strategies, occurring in tandem with establishing our leadership team of the future, ensuring the Nexia Melbourne of now still exists tomorrow, but even better,” stated managing partner Vito Interlandi. “These appointments bolster our desire to shape success through expertise and kinship, elevating our presence in the market.”

Aaron March
March has been with BlueRock for the past five and a half years, where as a director he supported business owners, entrepreneurs, corporates, and families on business strategy, taxation, and estate planning. Prior to that, he spent seven years at accounting and financial services firm Fordham.

“Nexia’s strong reputation for delivering strategic and tailored advice aligns perfectly with my passion for helping businesses grow, scale, and create long-term value,” March said. “The firm’s core values of commitment, teamwork, and trust resonate with my own approach to working with clients, and I look forward to working with an incredible team.”

Sangeeta Kaushik
Kaushik likewise crosses from BlueRock, where she spent just over four years and rose to associate director, before which she worked for over a decade at former boutique Red Consulting international. Last year Kaushik was named by Ignition as one of its annual global ‘Top 50 Women in Accounting.’

“After years of working with incredible clients, navigating complex business landscapes, and collaborating with talented professionals, I’m eager to take on this new leadership role,” she said. "At Nexia, I’ll be working closely with a team of experts to offer tailored business advisory services, helping companies grow, navigate challenges, and achieve long-term success.”

Domenique Vasile
Vasile joins Nexia as a partner after the past eighteen months as an associate director at Moore, preceded by similar-length stints at RSM and Southbank boutique Seiva. Earlier in her career, which kicked off at Vargiu Accountants, she spent a little over three years at Deloitte.

Mel Nash
Meanwhile, Nash was also elevated to Nexia’s tax consulting partnership toward the end of last year, after being with the firm for the best part of a decade. An industry veteran, Nash started her career in 2000 with Arthur Andersen in Singapore, before later spending six years at Deloitte.

Growth

Commenting on the promotion, Interlandi said: “Mel plays a pivotal role in our tax consulting team, specialising in complex tax matters and delivering proactive solutions. Her ability to navigate intricate issues and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is invaluable.”

Interlandi further noted that Nexia had just about doubled its partnership number in Melbourne in the two years since onboarding GAP Accountants and partners Doug Abrahams and Eva Bonner, with Nathan Campbell crossing from Lombardi last year and Mario Giramondo joining from William Buck alongside Thilini Ratnayake’s promotion in 2023.
