Boutique South Australian accounting and consulting firm Equipe Advisory has added its third director, promoting Jake Richardson to the top level.

Based in the Adelaide West End, Equipe was formed in 2021 by existing directors Richard Bund and Michael Turner, both ex-Tilbrook Rasheed, and has since grown to a team of eighteen professionals providing services covering accounting, advisory, and bookkeeping to clients across a wide range of sectors.

Among that number is Richardson, who joined the firm as an associate director in September of 2022 after having also earlier served for seven years at Tilbrook Rasheed, following which he spent time working in various commercial and finance roles in the creative industries in London, Singapore, Sydney, and Toronto.

“Beyond his technical expertise, Jake’s depth of experience in advisory work has been invaluable, enabling him to guide clients through complex financial landscapes with clarity and confidence,” the firm stated. “Since joining, Jake has also emerged as a natural leader, playing an instrumental role in the training and development of junior staff.”

In addition to his skills having been honed as an active chartered accountant, Equipe also made note of Richardson’s diversity of professional experience – including time spent in the media, film, hospitality and construction industries – as contributing to his understanding of the complexities of business operations and financial management from differing perspectives.

Prior to joining Equipe, Richardson spent four and a half years in various roles at global production studio Blue Ant Media, including lattery as senior vice president of finance & operations in LA. He also spent time as a finance manager with BBC Studios in the UK, and is currently a board member of socially-minded theatre company ActNow.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into this role at Equipe,” Richardson said of his promotion to director. “Being part of a firm that values both professional excellence and a supportive, people-focused culture has been truly rewarding. I look forward to continuing to work alongside our fantastic team and clients as we take Equipe Advisory into the future.”
