Peter Grassi new CEO of Fujitsu’s Australia & New Zealand business

Technology consultancy Fujitsu has appointed Peter Grassi as its new CEO for Oceania , with Grassi stepping up from his vice president of service delivery role to lead a regional team of 3,000 staff.
Grassi has overseen service delivery for Fujitsu in Australia and New Zealand out of Sydney for the past three years after having joined the firm from IBM in late 2021, the latter where he spent more than a decade in a variety of senior roles.
Fujitsu’s A/NZ wing has been overseen by outgoing Asia Pacific CEO Graeme Beardsell since 2020 (the wider responsibilities were added in 2022 following a regional restructure), with the firm making several local acquisitions under his watch.
“This is a region with immense potential, and I’m thrilled to lead such a talented and dedicated team,” Grassi said. “For me, this means a great chance to build on Fujitsu's incredible legacy and drive meaningful impact for our customers and communities, and the ability to empower our talented workforce to grow, innovate, and contribute to a shared vision.”
The workforce Grassi will be leading is now in excess of 3,000 technologists and consultants across Australia and New Zealand, including the 300 cyber and forensics specialists Fujitsu has recently assembled in a $300 million play on the local cybersecurity market. The firm had however been building to that point for some time, via a number of strategic acquisitions.
During Beardsell’s tenure, Fujitsu picked up Canberra-based consultancies Oobe and MF & Associates, respectively focused on Microsoft and the healthcare and public sectors; data science specialist Versor in Melbourne; fellow Melbourne-based ServiceNow partner Enable; and Kiwi cybersecurity company InPhySec.
Now, Grassi, who has been acting A/NZ CEO since January, will be tasked with further building on these strategic investments in digital transformation, cyber, AI, and enterprise solutions, with Fujitsu crediting its new chief with having already played a key part in the expansion of its local services and partnership network in his previous role.
“Peter and I have worked closely over the years, and I am confident that his integrity, foresight, and leadership will take Fujitsu Oceania into a successful future. He will build on our strong foundations and lead with the energy and ambition that have been key to our success,” Beardsell said, with the former CEO now preparing to depart the firm.
