BellchambersBarrett welcomes Kate Ahern and Tim Bennett as partners

Canberra-based advisory BellchambersBarrett has continued to add former Big Four talent, with ex-Deloitte partner Kate Ahern and one-time director Tim Bennett joining the firm as partners.
Ahern joins BellchambersBarrett as a partner in its tax & business services practice after more than two decades at Deloitte, while Bennett crosses from his most recent role at Bluebird Advisory to lead a new business transformation & technology consulting service.
The latest additions lift BellchambersBarrett’s partnership to 15 – overseeing a team of now more than 100 professionals – with the firm also having recently added former KPMG partners Brandon Brown and Phil Sands as part of an ongoing growth spurt.
Tim Bennett brings experience leading both public and private sector large-scale transformation to BellchambersBarrett’s new endeavour, including as a director at Deloitte and earlier time spent at Capgemini. More recently he was a principal at ConceptSix before joining fellow Canberra boutique Bluebird Advisory as an executive director at the beginning of last year.
With a background in program delivery and change management, Bennett stated, “Transformation isn’t just about technology. It’s about people, processes and creating lasting value. I’m looking forward to helping our clients at BellchambersBarrett bridge the gap between strategy and execution to navigate complex transformation journeys.”
BellchambersBarrett’s broader advisory division, covering areas such as strategy & organisational design, program & project management, procurement advisory, and financial consulting, further includes partner Miranda Garnett, who joined the firm last year to lead a newly-launched social advisory practice serving the government and for-purpose sectors.
Garnett said; “Tim’s deep understanding of business transformation will be instrumental in shaping the future of our advisory services. His appointment reflects our commitment to evolve with client needs, and strengthens our ability to support clients through digital evolution to ensure they remain resilient and forward-thinking in a rapidly changing environment.”
A commerce graduate with ANU, Kate Ahern recently returned to the capital after spending the majority of her 22-year career with Deloitte in Sydney, including more than half of that time as a tax & legal partner supporting high-net-worth families and private enterprises in areas such as tax and wealth structuring, capital gains, ATO engagements, and succession planning.
‘I’ve always been passionate about helping private clients and in particular families navigate tax complexities and achieve their financial goals,” Ahern said of crossing to BellchambersBarrett. “Joining a well-respected and fast growing firm that is deeply embedded in this market felt like the right step for me, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth.”
