FTI Consulting appoints four new senior managing director in Australia
Professional services firm FTI Consulting has made more than 50 new year senior managing director promotions across its global offices, including four in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Corporate finance & restructuring trio Matt O’Keefe, Antonetta Carroll, and Stephen Commadeur have been promoted to senior managing director in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, while Emma Fishburn steps up within FTI Consulting’s economic consulting division in Sydney.
“These professionals exemplify how we continue to build a firm we’re proud of, supporting great people who do great work for clients and make a difference in the marketplace and for each of us,” said FTI Consulting CEO Steven Gunby of the 53 promotions in total.
Matt O’Keefe
O’Keefe joined FTI Consulting at the start of 2021, before which he spent close to a decade and a half and served as a director at KordaMentha. With expertise in financial and working capital management, he has supported clients in negotiating operational challenges across a wide range of sectors, including aviation, mining, media, retail, transport and manufacturing among others.
Antonetta Carroll
Carroll meanwhile joined FTI in Perth in 2023 from KPMG, where she had spent fourteen years following an earlier career start alongside O’Keefe at KordaMentha. Recently qualifying as a registered liquidator, she has experience in all facets of insolvency and corporate recovery, with mining, automotive, engineering and property companies among her previous clients.
Stephen Commadeur
A corporate agribusiness specialist, Commadeur has been with FTI since 2020, having previously spent eight years between PwC and its 2018 acquisition PPB. In addition to restructuring services, Commadeur also provides clients across the broad agricultural landscape with strategic and transactional advisory, leveraging an earlier hands-on farming background in Australia and abroad.
Emma Fishburn
Focused on the energy sector, Fishburn provides strategic, economic, and other advisory to the full range of stakeholders currently navigating the market transition. Prior to joining FTI in 2022, she led Deloitte’s energy practice in Sydney, and previously spent time with the Australian Energy Market Commission and as a senior policy officer in the federal energy & resources department.
Global promotions
The Australian quartet join Alex Wong and Enqing Wang in Hong Kong and Shanghai as the Asia Pacific region’s newest FTI senior managing directors, while the firm also elevated seven individuals to the top level in the Middle East. The remainder of the 2026 new year promotions cohort were spread between some eighteen offices across the UK, North America and Europe.
