Global technology consultancy MTX buys Adapt IQ’s New Zealand arm
Technology consultancy MTX has acquired the New Zealand arm of Salesforce specialist Adapt IQ to expand its AI-focused delivery capabilities for local public and private sector clients.
Based out of Wellington, Adapt IQ has a team of around one dozen professionals in New Zealand delivering advisory and implementation projects across the Salesforce Customer 360 platform, particularly for clients within the public and education sectors.
Meanwhile, US-headquartered MTX has been expanding its offering to the Asia Pacific market over the past five years, with Adelaide selected as its first step in 2021 in building a national presence alongside an outpost since established in Singapore.
Adding fellow premier Salesforce Summit partner Adapt IQ and building a dedicated New Zealand delivery and innovation hub with boots on the ground, MTX says, will allow it to both support existing and new local customers with industry-specific, AI-driven solutions which deliver real impact while also furthering the firm’s regional presence.
“This acquisition is a strategic leap forward in our mission to serve the APAC region with world-class technology and AI-driven solutions,” said APAC CEO Sudeep Acharya. “Adapt IQ’s strong presence in New Zealand, customer focus, and deep Salesforce expertise align perfectly with MTX’s values and vision, and together we’ll expand our reach across the Asia Pacific.”
Acharya continued: “By integrating their specialised local knowledge, particularly in navigating New Zealand’s unique regulatory and procurement landscapes, with MTX’s global AI and data scale, we create a hybrid model that local firms simply cannot match. This means we can now offer greater localised program delivery specifically for NZ customers.”
Acharya added that the consulting firm is also seeking to build up its Kiwi headcount to support the new hub, while current staff will now have the opportunity to work on large-scale global projects and gain exposure to MTX’s broader capabilities and service offerings. On the flip-side, the Adapt IQ acquisition significantly extends MTX’s capabilities within the higher education sector.
Meanwhile, Melbourne-based Adapt IQ A/NZ managing director Sudhakar Arumalla will continue at MTX. He said: “Joining MTX marks an exciting new chapter for Adapt IQ NZ. Our teams share a passion for innovation and execution excellence, and by combining our strengths we’re exceptionally well-positioned to scale our impact across New Zealand and the broader APAC region.”
Headquartered in Texas, MTX was established by CEO Das Nobel alongside a team of fellow co-founders, with a global headcount now upwards of 1,200 advisors and technicians. Adapt IQ marks the firm’s third acquisition of the year, including New York-based consultancy Stralto, while MTX also recently launched an AI and cybersecurity-focused ventures arm in the US.
