Andrew Mattinson joins Jirsch Sutherland in Melbourne
Restructuring consultancy Jirsch Sutherland has bolstered its team in Melbourne with Andrew Mattinson.
“I’m excited to have joined the team at Jirsch Sutherland. The partners in the Melbourne office [Glenn Crisp and Malcolm Howell] have provided me a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with clients on insolvency or business turnaround matters,” said Mattinson on his new role.
Appointed a Principal, he has been tasked with growing Jirsch Sutherland’s restricting presence in Victoria. The registered liquidator and financial accountant (CPA) brings two decades of experience to the role, having worked across a range of sectors such as health, not-for-profit, construction, retail, fast moving consumer goods, food & beverage and manufacturing.
Mattinson joined the consulting firm last month from Hamilton Murphy, a boutique advisory firm focused on insolvency. Previously, he worked ten years for Grant Thornton. At the mid-tier professional services network, he worked on a number of financial and strategic advisory engagements, and established and led the firm’s insolvency practice. He started his career at HLB Mann Judd, after obtaining a degrees in economics and finance from Deakin University, and a master’s in accounting from Monash University.
Reflecting on his career, Mattinson said: “I’ve had a number of career highlights including trading several businesses such as a nursing home for 18 months, an abattoir and a food distribution business. I’ve also handled various restructures including a metal fabrication business and a webbing manufacturer in the textile industry.”
Welcoming him to the firm, Bradd Morelli, Jirsch Sutherland’s national managing partner stated: “Andrew has strong leadership and strategic skills and his advanced financial analysis skills will greatly benefit our firm and our clients.”
Founded in 1984, Jirsch Sutherland is one of Australia’s larger home grown consulting firms dedicated to insolvency and turnaround management. The company has around 50 consultants based in offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
