RSM welcomes Shaun Osborne to its M&A team in Western Australia

RSM has boosted its Corporate Finance expertise and its senior leadership team in Western Australia with the appointment of a new Director.

Shaun Osborne joined the accounting and consulting firm in February after relocating from Johannesburg to Perth. A member of the M&A advisory practice, he supports business owners, shareholders and investors on transaction-related matters, including complex and important decisions across the business lifecycle.

In South Africa, Osborne spent nine years with Moore, where he grew the ranks from trainee to director.

During this time, he has guided clients through a wide range of strategic divestments, privately owned business sales, and acquisition-driven growth strategies across a broad range of industry sectors. This included assisting a Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed financial services group to successfully execute on its acquisition strategy and to support its broader growth objectives.

Another rewarding engagement for Osborne involved advising a family-owned private business on the sale of their company. The business had been built over many decades and carried significant emotional value for the family, making the transaction far more than a purely commercial exercise. Osborne worked closely with the shareholders and management team throughout the pre-sale preparation and sale process.

Reflecting on his new challenge at RSM, Osborne said he is focused on and excited about delivering M&A advisory services to Western Australia’s mid-market.
