Foresight Consulting Group appoints Jordan Petrie to lead new Government Services pillar

Foresight Consulting Group, a boutique climate advisory and sustainability firm, has appointed Jordan Petrie as Lead of its Government Services pillar.

Petrie brings a background based on more than a decade advising the Australian Government, state, territory and local government on a range of strategic and operational challenges.

He served as a Director in Deloitte’s Climate and Sustainability team, closely working with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water to define the public sector climate risk methodology, with the National Emergency Management Agency to deliver the Independent Review of Commonwealth Disaster Funding, and with the CSIRO to undertake its organisation-wide climate risk and opportunity assessment.

Foresight Consulting Group founder and chief executive Josh Martin commented: “Jordan’s extensive experience working with government provides Foresight with the capabilities needed to meet the growing demand for climate and sustainability services across the public sector.”

Foresight chair and executive director Terence Jeyaretnam said the consulting firm is deliberately assembling expertise that sits outside the traditional consulting pipeline.

“In addition to a leadership that is ex-Big Four and therefore able to best prepare our clients for reasonable level assurance on climate related financial disclosures, what we are building is a team that understands the science, understands how capital markets interpret risk and disclosure, and understands the regulatory environment that companies are now operating in,” Jeyaretnam said.

“Jordan background in industry and his consulting experience means he is well positioned to advise organisations when they are under pressure, at a time when they need advice that cuts through the noise the most.”

Founded in 2022, Foresight has steadily grown its teams in Melbourne and Sydney, and is now launching a Canberra presence focused on the government sector.

For Petrie, the move to the boutique firm offers the ability to deliver more efficient work for clients, and to serve the private sector in Canberra and the region. “Joining Foresight offers the opportunity to work alongside a sector-leading team, where the experience and insights from working with Australia’s top companies to achieve their climate and sustainability goals can complement the public sector’s own transition plans.”

This appointment continues Foresight’s growth in 2026, with recent additions in leadership including Marina Lou and William Birrell.
