Melbourne-based cloud consultancy BNW Consulting has been acquired by global IT services company SoftwareONE, as part of the latter’s drive to bolster its cloud computing and SAP capabilities. The bolt-on adds some 30 employees and a substantial client roster to SoftwareONE’s portfolio.

BNW Consulting has clients stretching not only across Australia and the Asia-Pacific, but extending across the United States and Canada as well. The firm has an additional headquarters in Dallas, Texas, which it uses as a base to serve its clients across North America.

The firm’s suite of services is grounded in the cloud domain. A specialist in SAP technology and consulting, BNW Consulting supports clients with SAP cloud migrations, SAP technology transformations and SAP cloud managed services, among others.

SoftwareONE also specialises in cloud services, helping clients with services such as software portfolio management, technology advisory support, software licensing solutions, software asset management, managed cloud services, unified communications and solutions. Based out of Switzerland, SoftwareONE has 5,300 employees and a presence in nearly 90 countries.

SoftwareONE enters APAC market through BNW Consulting acquisition

The BNW Consulting acquisition extends its foothold in the rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific market. Across the region, as well as in Australia, the cloud market has been booming in recent years, as businesses have begun to gauge the increased productivity from the technology.

The acquisition of BNW Consulting is the second major takeover of an Australian SAP consulting firm in the space of a few days. Last week, global IT services firm DXC Technology also made the decision to enter the expanding Australia and Asia-Pacific market through the acquisition of Sydney-based tech firm Bluleader.

As part of the integration. BNW Consulting Managing Director Warwick Chai and the firm’s co-owner and Chief Operating Officer Stefan Baumann will take on leadership positions at SoftwareONE. The team will join SoftwareONE’s SAP practice, led by Director Daniel Da Vinci, who is based in Tokyo.

Commenting on the deal, CEO of SoftwareONE Dieter Schlosser said, “We welcome BNW’s SAP technology specialists, who will significantly enhance SoftwareONE’s global SAP and Technology Services capability. Our new colleagues will service their customers in APAC and the US, and beyond, in close conjunction with the established Manila SAP Center of Excellence.”
