Australian Oracle specialist Ekulus joins Deloitte Consulting
Marking its tenth year of existence, Melbourne-based digital consultancy Ekulus Consulting has doubled down on celebrations by joining Deloitte Consulting.
The acquisition is effective from October 1st, and is aimed at bolstering Deloitte’s Oracle offering in Australia. Ekulus is a specialist in delivering Oracle CX Cloud implementation services, and places among the country’s leading Oracle partners. In both 2018 and 2019, Ekulus was named the Australia & New Zealand Oracle CX Cloud Partner of the Year.
“With Ekulus, we now have end-to-end capability across the entire Oracle stack, enabling us to support clients with every aspect of their digital transformation, from technology advisory, to implementation, training and operations management,” explained Peter Nikandrow, Deloitte’s Oracle lead and Enterprise Technology partner.
The move builds significantly on a move by Deloitte Australia just last year, when it acquired Sydney-based Oracle specialist Presence of IT – adding 600 professionals to its roster. The team joined Deloitte’s Human Capital arm at the time, giving it a strong basis to compete in Australia’s Oracle-based human capital landscape.
The Ekulus acquisition will consolidate this presence. What makes it even more appealing is that Ekulus doesn’t just support clients with digital transformation, but also specialises in customer experience development. According to Deloitte Australia CEO Richard Deutsch, now is as good a time as ever to be building customer-centric capabilities.
“For so many businesses, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the critical importance of great customer service and we are seeing strong demand from clients for expertise to help them digitally transform their customer experience. The team from Ekulus will help us meet that demand,” he said.
The said team consists of professionals across Melbourne, Sydney and Manila, led by Managing Director Marcelo Scalia and Delivery Director Moorthy Rengarajulu. The team will now join Deloitte’s offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, with Scalia taking over as a partner and Rengarajulu as a principal at the new team.
According to Scalia, the move is an exciting new step, and comes at a landmark time for Ekulus. “2020 marks the 10th anniversary of us starting Ekulus and it’s exciting and fitting that the team embarks on a new decade of growth as part of Deloitte. Being part of an Asia Pacific-focused global business gives us significant opportunities to expand the impact we can have helping clients improve their customer experience,” he said.
For Deloitte Australia, the new chapter sustains a rapid rate of growth in recent years – last year being the fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth for the firm. Tech acquisitions have become a near regular affair for Deloitte, as it looks to gain a foothold in every niche of the digital advisory landscape.
Oracle is a major segment within the ERP consulting and implementation landscape. Deloitte also is a partner of several other IT houses, including SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce and MuleSoft.
