Cognizant acquires 500-strong digital consultancy Servian
500-strong Australia-headquartered technology consultancy Servian has been acquired by Cognizant.
Servian was founded in 2008 and has over the past twelve years grown into one of Australia’s larger technology and data & analytics consulting firm. Since inception, the firm has worked with more than 190 major companies in Australia and New Zealand in the banking, telecommunications, insurance, retail, and government sectors, including eight of ANZ's 15 largest companies.
The digital consultancy helps its clients with advisory, technology and managed services offerings in areas such as data and analytics, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, UI/UX, customer engagement, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and internet of things. Backing its portfolio are partnerships with major software vendors, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Salesforce, Snowflake, Oracle and Red Hat.
Joining Cognizant will enable Servian to work on “an even broader spectrum of challenges and opportunities presented by the digital economy,” said Tony Nicol, Servian’s founder and chief executive officer.
“We share Cognizant's passion for innovation powered by digital technologies. With their deep industry expertise and global scale, we will be able to enhance our offerings in digital advisory, engineering delivery, and managed services.”
Meanwhile, for Cognizant, the move significantly ramps up its headcount in ANZ from the current 1,200 professionals to around 1,700. The bolt-on will double Cognizant’s cloud and data team in the region, “marking a giant leap in terms of the breadth, depth and scale of our capabilities in the region,” said Jane Livesey, the chief executive officer of Cognizant Australia and New Zealand.
She continued, “Cognizant's extensive digital expertise combined with Servian’s strengths as the premier technology partner in the region will open up the full power of digital transformation for our Australasian clients.”
Servian is Cognizant's 10th digital-focused acquisition announced since January 2020, “demonstrating our commitment to accelerate capabilities in priority areas of data and artificial intelligence, digital engineering, cloud, and internet of things across the globe,” said Livesey.
